Tinkoff belongs to the elite of the WorldTour. The team is owned by Oleg Tinkov and sponsored by Tinkoff Bank. Tinkoff is among the most prominent and groundbreaking teams in the sport. We are proud to be a part of the world’s finest and toughest sport, and we believe that great achievements come from strong individual performances and excellent teamwork.

Ahead of 2014, Oleg Tinkov, realized his dream of owning a WorldTour team, as he established Tinkoff-Saxo on the foundation of the, then, 16-year old team. 2014 revealed the big, combined talent of the squad and overall setup, as the team took noticeable victories such as Alberto Contador’s overall win at Vuelta a España and Rafal Majka’s King of the Mountain’s Classification and two stage wins at Tour de France. During 2014, Tinkoff won a total of 26 victories as a result of a visible and persistent effort from the beginning of the season until the last race in October.

In 2015, top riders such as Peter Sagan, Ivan Basso and Robert Kiserlovski joined the likes of Alberto Contador, Michael Rogers and Daniele Bennati to ensure a broad and diverse group of riders. Tinkoff continued being one of the major forces in cycling in 2015, winning some of the sport's most prominent races. Alberto Contador embarked on a herculean attempt to become the first rider to secure a double Giro-Tour win, after nearly 20 years. Contador prevailed in an extremely tough and competitive Giro d'Italia and donned the Maglia Rosa in Milan after 21 gruesome stages. Two months later, Contador crossed the finish line on the Champs Elysées in fifth place, short of his final goal but proving he was the most polyvalent Grand Tour rider of his generation.

Peter Sagan matured during the 2015 season, first winning the Tour of California, where he showed his climbing skills. The Slovak champion continued his stranglehold on the Tour de France green jersey and was able to secure it with two stages to go. Sagan wore the green jersey at the Champs Elysées podium for the fourth consecutive time. However, his time was yet to come. Representing his home nation of Slovakia, and with just a handful of fellow riders, he was against some of the most powerful cycling nations of the world at the UCI World Championship in Richmond, Virginia. Sagan waited for the final lap of the 261km race and then attacked on the steep cobbled climb on 23rd street. He then used his descending skills to distance the peloton and powered up the final climb of the Richmond circuit to win alone.

Rafal Majka stood out in 2015 and, undoubtedly came of age. He was one of the most powerful and dedicated lieutenants of Alberto Contador in the Tour de France and claimed his first victory of the 2015 season as he repeated his two stage victories in Risoul and Saint-Lary-Soulan at the first Tour de France he took part in last year. The Polish climber rode away solo from a breakaway group to clinch the prestigious Souvenir Jacques Goddet at the top of the Tourmalet. Less than a month later, Majka was handed for the first time the reigns of the squad at the Vuelta a España, taking his maiden leadership role in a Grand Tour. Despite two major incidents and the withdrawal of Peter Sagan and Sergio Paulinho, Majka took third overall and secured his first podium place in the penultimate stage.

Now, in the final year of Oleg Tinkov's ownership, the Russian team faces 2016 with very high ambitions of becoming the undisputed best cycling team in the world.
