Specialized Bicycle Components signed a new agreement with the 2016 Olympic Triathlon Gold Medalist, Gwen Jorgensen, for another four years. Jorgensen was the first female athlete to win Gold in the Olympics for Specialized, who've proudly supported her journey since 2012.

Although Gwen just won Gold, she's hungry for another, and together with Specialized she's already shifting focus towards the Tokyo 2020 Games.

“Gwen is a true competitor, the ultimate professional and the entire team at Specialized have enjoyed watching her push boundaries and have been inspired by her dedication to lead at the top of the sport,” said Dan Hugo, Director of Specialized Sports Marketing.

Recently, Gwen and her husband, Patrick, announced that they’re expecting their first child. The team at Specialized celebrated their news with a custom, sparkling, gold dipped Hotwalk as a gift for the baby to be. For all in the Specialized community, we value the balance of family and professional goals, and Gwen will surely be a role model for women all over the world as she becomes a mother and continues to compete at a professional level.

“I’m thrilled to continue with Specialized. My goal is to compete at the top level of my sport and Specialized is vital for my success. I believe in the value of having the best bicycles and components as a performance advantage and that Specialized is best in class. Specialized has been progressive in their support of my pregnancy and I’m proud of what this agreement represents for women in sport.,” said Gwen Jorgensen.

It’s been a tremendous five-year journey with Jorgensen. In this time, she's won two ITU World Championships, had a record setting 13-race World Triathlon Series winning streak, and took Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Jorgensen spent two days with the team at Specialized to announce her continued partnership with the brand. Images from her visit can be viewed here, please credit Paris Gore [@ParisGore].
